Love it!! Passing through La Junta at 10:30am, we could order breakfast or lunch. We chose the lunch special. The refried beans were amazing, as were the sopapillas included with the meal. Great food, great service, cute and clean restaurant.

This is the cooking you get from Mom. The Breakfast burritos are the best I've had anywhere. I live in Albuquerque and have yet to find green chile as good as El Rincon's. You won't be disappointed. Only downside is they are open for Breakfast and Lunch, no dinner.

Great breakfast burrito! Got the chorizo and potato and it was just as authentic as the breakfast burritos I'm used to in Tucson! Chorus was spicy but too much so for breakfast, which is important to me cuz spicy breakfasts are too much a shock to my digestive works. Service was quick, too. Coffee needed help, though...

This place was good. It's your general authentic Mexican food. The service was great, the lady that waited on us was super nice and friendly. If you're looking for some good Mexican food (breakfast or lunch) and a nice clean and friendly environment, I would definitely try out El Rincon.

A previous review of green chili in the burrito drew us in. Sooooo glad it did. Really perfect warm and tasty chili flavor in my bacon and egg burrito. Great tortilla. Owner was terrific. Fun colors and clean. They will cook and substitute however you want. I got my burrito potatoes on the side. They had obviously been cooled with a broth. Very flavorful. Smothered is a tasty choice. I will come again if we are passing thru la junta again.

Went here on a chance for lunch. Got the egg and potato breakfast burrito with green chili. It was great --the green chili was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised at the price Definitely worth driving around looking for the right street corner to find it

Been here for lunch several times passing through. Chips and salsa are good, I have enjoyed the Chimichanga, big quesadilla and the stuffed sopapilla and they are delicious. The vermicelli is a little different than where I come from ... shorter thicker noodles. The restaurant is quaint, dressed up decor nothing fancy. Dinner is not on the menu board so I'm not sure if they serve dinner.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
